Wayne Tillett grew up in the small town of Shelbyville, TN.  His artistic abilities and creativity helped him land his first job of drawing caricatures at the Opryland theme park in Nashville in 1987.  He has since been employed by Universal Studios in Orlando, FL before re-locating to New Jersey where he worked in Ocean City and Wildwood, NJ.  He moved back to his hometown in 2013 and although the theme park is gone, he continues to do caricatures at the Opryland Hotel as well as many private events which include weddings, corporate events, etc.   He has always had an interest in science fiction and often says that the television raised him as he was, and still is an avid fan of Star Trek, Dr. Who and other programs of the same nature.  But, at the height of the pandemic in 2020 when the tourism industry came to a screeching halt, his curiosity about Bigfoot surfaced.  He began seeking information online and on YouTube about the elusive creature.  As a fan of the television show “Finding Bigfoot” and a follower of the BFRO on social media, he saw a post that expeditions were re-forming as Covid restrictions were lessening. After sending an email regarding an expedition, contact was made with Tennessee BFRO Investigator and expedition leader, Lori Wade.  Although apprehensive at first, he registered for her next event.  He had not been camping since his youth, but he discovered a love of nature and of the wild that he didn’t know existed.    He has learned a wealth of information from Lori and other investigators since that trip back in September 2020.  He has attended several expeditions since that time and each time, gleans something new from the experience.  He is a very willing participant at the events, isn’t afraid to ask questions and is always eager to learn and share his own experiences with those who are new to the group.  Wayne is diligent in his efforts to gather information, research, and explore the many different opportunities that present themselves to either discover, or debunk, the mystery that surrounds the creature who is believed by many to share our world with us.
